What is BCCISA?

BCCI-SA stands for Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries in South Africa. It is a business association that connects Bangladeshi and South African entrepreneurs to promote trade, investment, and cooperation between the two countries.

Who can become a member?

Any Bangladeshi-origin business owner, company, or professional operating in South Africa—and South African businesses interested in trade with Bangladesh—can apply for membership.

What are the benefits of joining BCCI-SA?

Members gain access to networking opportunities, trade and investment information, business forums, training, advocacy support, and participation in chamber events and exhibitions.

How do I apply for membership?

You can complete the online membership form on our website or download the application form, attach required documents (SA ID or Bangladesh Passport), and submit it via email to membership@bccisa.org.za.

What are the membership fees?

Members pay a once-off registration fee and a monthly subscription fee of R2,000, due by the 5th of each month, as decided in the 1st AGM.

Where is the Chamber’s office located?

The head office is in Johannesburg, South Africa, with plans to open regional offices in other provinces in the future. A temporary office or co-working space will be designated initially.

Does BCCISA work with government bodies?

Yes. BCCI-SA maintains communication with the Bangladesh High Commission in Pretoria, the South African government, and related business organizations to promote mutual trade and investment.

Are all Executive Directors equal shareholders?

Yes. As per the 1st AGM decision, all Executive Directors hold equal shares in the chamber during the initial registration phase.

How often does the chamber hold meetings or events?

The Executive Committee meets at least once every two months, while the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held once a year. Additional networking and trade events are organized regularly.

Can non-Bangladeshi individuals join the chamber?

Yes. BCCI-SA maintains communication with the Bangladesh High Commission in Pretoria, the South African government, and related business organizations to promote mutual trade and investment.

How is the chamber funded?

The chamber is funded through membership fees, sponsorships, event income, and potential grants or partnerships aligned with its mission.
